House Advances WRDA with Table Rock Lake Property Protections
|
|
On Wednesday, the House passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2026. The bill includes language I secured to protect Table Rock Lake property owners by allowing eligible homes, sheds, decks, patios, retaining walls, and other structures to remain on Corps-managed land. It also protects sewer and septic systems from forced removal unless they are abandoned or face imminent failure.
The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration. I will continue fighting to ensure these important protections for Table Rock Lake families remain in the final legislation.

Following the Money Behind Anti-Energy Lawfare
|
|
On Monday, as Chairman of the Oversight Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs, I joined House Oversight Chairman James Comer in requesting records from Bloomberg Philanthropies as part of our investigation into funding for environmental groups working to block American energy projects. The Committee is examining whether these efforts have delayed energy development, cost jobs, and raised national-security concerns, by providing funding to China-linked organizations.

DOGE Subcommittee: Following the Money on Homelessness
|
|
On Tuesday, the House Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency held a hearing titled “Fixing Fraud and Failure in Federally Funded Homelessness Services.” In Los Angeles, federal homelessness funding has increased significantly, with the city spending billions more with little accountability.
I focused on whether taxpayer dollars are producing results, including concerns over rising nonprofit compensation and whether current programs do enough to move people toward recovery, work, and self-sufficiency.

Fresh Freedom Episode 78: Privacy, Politics, and the Fight for Liberty

On Fresh Freedom, we sat down with conservative broadcaster Owen Shroyer for a wide-ranging conversation about government surveillance, artificial intelligence, data privacy, and the growing debate over liberty and federal power.
We also discussed his time in federal prison, his frustration with the direction of the Republican Party, and what conservatives can do to restore voters’ confidence.

Historic UAP Recording Released
|
|
In May, I requested that MIT Lincoln Laboratory locate, preserve, and review a previously unavailable 1952 recording featuring a discussion led by Air Force officer Edward J. Ruppelt. On Friday, the recording was publicly released as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing UAP disclosure efforts. During the presentation, Ruppelt discussed credible reports of UAP near sensitive nuclear sites, radar returns indicating speeds of up to 3,500 miles per hour, and that approximately 20 percent of roughly 800 cases remained unexplained.

Op-Ed: Allies Need Answers on UAP
|
|
On Wednesday, I published an op-ed in The Debrief with former minister of defense Yasukazu Hamada and former member of the Japan House of Representatives Yoshiharu Asakawa calling for greater cooperation among democratic allies on UAP disclosure. If unidentified objects are operating near sensitive military and nuclear sites, elected officials need the information necessary to conduct oversight, assess potential threats, and get answers for the public.

Service Academy Nominations Open
|
|
High school and college students in Missouri’s Seventh District who are interested in serving our country through one of the U.S. service academies can now apply for a congressional nomination through my office. Members of Congress may nominate candidates to the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Attending a service academy carries a minimum five-year military service commitment after graduation. Applications for this cycle are due Oct. 13, 2026.
