Administrative Action Signals Shift on Corps Enforcement at Table Rock Lake

Families around Table Rock Lake have spent years living with uncertainty after being told to remove structures that had existed for decades, even after Congress acted to bring clarity and fairness. That kind of red tape creates real stress for people who did nothing wrong and simply followed the rules as they understood them.

The Trump administration has now taken action, including leadership changes within the Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, marking a meaningful step in the right direction. While there is still work ahead, this signals progress toward giving Missouri homeowners the certainty they deserve.

Virtual Town Hall: Your Questions, Unfiltered

On Tuesday, more than 10,000 constituents from Missouri’s Seventh District joined me for a telephone town hall to discuss the work underway in Congress and the issues facing families back home.

We reviewed key legislative actions from the first half of the 119th Congress, including passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, and I outlined priorities for the months ahead. Callers raised questions about rising health care costs, federal spending and debt, election integrity, Second Amendment rights, government accountability, and U.S. foreign policy.

Paying Tribute to Sam Coryell, a Springfield Legend

On Thursday, I paid my respects on the House floor to Sam Coryell, a Springfield legend. Sam dedicated his life to teaching, building, and giving back to the community he loved. He leaves behind a lasting mark on Springfield and on the people who call it home. Rest in peace, Sam.

Making the American Dream Affordable Again: RSC Unveils Reconciliation 2.0 Framework

On Tuesday, the Republican Study Committee officially unveiled its framework for a second reconciliation bill. This comprehensive proposal delivers over $1 trillion in net deficit reduction while addressing affordability in health care, housing, and energy. The framework builds on the historic success of the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Health insurance premiums are a central reason the American Dream feels increasingly out of reach. In 2000, the average family paid just over $6,000 a year in health insurance premiums. Today, that figure is nearly $27,000. Families are paying more every year while receiving less in return, the direct result of policies that inflated demand with subsidies while failing to expand the supply of care. This framework rejects the doubling down on a broken system and instead advances substantive reforms that put patients back in control of their health care dollars and restore competition to drive down costs.

Fresh Freedom Episode 61: Republicans Are on the Clock

On Episode 61 of Fresh Freedom, I’m joined by political strategist Paul Teller and former Missouri Speaker of the House Tim Jones for a lively roundtable on what comes next for the conservative agenda, and why the majority cannot afford to become complacent.

We discussed why the One Big Beautiful Bill should not mark the conclusion of our efforts, the urgency behind Reconciliation 2.0, and the need to go big on affordability by fixing health care, housing, and energy policy.

Uniparty Flex: Washington Protects Its Own, the Swamp Rises Again

On Wednesday, House Republicans were handed two clear chances to confront the Washington swamp. On both votes, some moderate Republicans joined every Democrat to kill the amendments.

Rep. Eli Crane's amendment to defund the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) failed after 81 Republicans voted to keep it funded, despite repeated warnings from President Trump and Elon Musk that unaccountable institutions like NED are part of the problem in Washington.

Rep. Chip Roy's amendment to rein in judicial overreach failed after 46 Republicans voted no, siding with Democrats to protect activist judges and preserve the status quo.

These votes were a simple test of whether Republicans would use our majority to challenge entrenched power or defend it. Too many chose to defend it. When Republicans vote like Democrats, the swamp wins.

Demanding Answers After ATF Rollout Failure

As promised, I am not backing down over the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' botched rollout of Congress's repeal of the $200 National Firearms Act tax.

As a follow-up to the video I released last week, I sent a formal letter to the Acting Director demanding answers, accountability, and immediate action to fix the system failures burdening law-abiding Missourians.

I will continue fighting to protect your Second Amendment rights and ensure this agency stops infringing on the freedoms Congress has already secured.

Defying Congress: Oversight Committee Moves to Hold the Clintons in Contempt

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defied lawful, bipartisan subpoenas by refusing to appear for depositions scheduled this week before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. After repeated accommodations and multiple rescheduled dates, both Clintons again failed to comply with their legal obligations.

In response, Chairman James Comer announced that the Committee will hold a full markup next Wednesday, January 21, to advance contempt of Congress resolutions, reinforcing that congressional subpoenas are legally binding, and that no one is above the law.

Hearing Announcement: Housing Affordability and the American Dream

As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs, I will hold a hearing titled “Housing Affordability: Saving the American Dream” on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

The hearing will examine how overregulation has driven up housing costs and restricted supply, and how market-based reforms under President Trump and Republican leadership can restore the American dream of homeownership.
