One Year of President Trump 2.0: Results, Not Rhetoric
Tuesday marked one year of President Trump’s second term, and the results speak for themselves. Through the One Big Beautiful Bill, Republicans delivered historic tax relief, strengthened border security, and restored work requirements in welfare programs while beginning to roll back the policies that drove up prices for working families.
Going forward in 2026, Republicans must advance the Republican Study Committee reconciliation agenda to make the American dream affordable again by lowering housing, healthcare, and energy costs.

March for Life and Defending the Unborn
On Friday, thousands of Americans gathered for the annual March for Life to affirm a simple truth: Life is a sacred gift from God, worthy of protection from the moment of conception. I was grateful to receive an A+ rating on Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s 2025 Scorecard, reflecting my consistent record of defending unborn children and supporting mothers. As we move forward in 2026, I will continue working to advance my bill H.R. 722, the Life at Conception Act, which seeks to provide legal recognition and protection for life from the moment of conception.
I will always fight to protect the lives of the unborn.

Helping Constituents Navigate IRS and SBA Challenges
Dealing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or the Small Business Administration (SBA) can be overwhelming, especially when refunds are delayed or questions go unanswered. That is why my office will host an IRS and SBA Week across Missouri’s Seventh District from February 23 through February 27, with events in Pineville, Joplin, Mount Vernon, Hollister, and Springfield.
While my office cannot file taxes, my team can help cut through federal red tape, contact agencies directly, and move stalled cases forward. For locations and details, visit burlison.house.gov or call 417-889-1800.

Oversight Committee Advances Contempt Resolutions Against the Clintons
On Wednesday, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a full committee markup and advanced resolutions recommending that the full House vote to hold Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with duly issued, bipartisan subpoenas related to the committee's investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein case.
After months of negotiations and scheduling accommodations, both Clintons declined to appear for depositions. The law is clear: Subpoenas issued by Congress are not optional, and refusal to comply undermines Congress's constitutional oversight authority. The resolutions now advance to the full House for a vote. If adopted, the contempt resolutions would then be referred to the Department of Justice.

Removing Barriers to Homeownership for Working Americans
On Thursday, I chaired an Oversight Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs hearing focused on the housing- affordability crisis facing American families. Decades of overregulation and liberal policies that stimulated demand without addressing supply have driven up housing costs and pushed homeownership out of reach for working Americans. The hearing examined ways to expand housing supply, remove regulatory barriers, and restore policies that make the American dream attainable again.

Right to the Point Podcast: Ending Obamacare’s Grip on American Health Care
I recently joined Reps. Kevin Hern (OK-01) and Michael Cloud (TX-27) on the Republican Study Committee’s (RSC) Right to the Point podcast to explain why Obamacare cannot be fixed and must be replaced. Fifteen years after its passage, the law has failed to reduce the number of uninsured, doubled premiums, and limited access to care.
Republicans are advancing comprehensive reforms, including provisions from my MAHA proposal, through the RSC’s second reconciliation framework to rebuild a patient-centered healthcare system from the ground up.

Task Force Presses for Transparency in the MLK Records
On Thursday, the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets held a hearing examining the release of federal records related to the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a focus on how Congress can responsibly release remaining records to provide transparency while protecting the integrity ofthe historical record. I pressed witnesses on the federal government’s surveillance of Dr. King and the fact that key assassination records remain sealed by Congress.

Oversight, Accountability, and the Case for Disclosure
On Tuesday, I joined investigative filmmaker James Fox at a press conference on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) at the National Press Club to call for greater transparency and accountability from the federal government. The American people deserve transparency regarding UAP encounters and related government information. History shows that disclosure only occurs when the American people demand answers. That is why I am pushing to pass the UAP Disclosure Act and strengthen protections for whistleblowers.
