American Renewal: Unleashing the Power of Innovation
America is at risk of falling behind in the global energy race—and that should concern every one of us. Excessive regulations and red tape from previous administrations have stifled private-sector innovation, holding back our energy potential. Fortunately, the Trump administration is advancing common-sense policies to redefine power generation and strengthen American energy.
Last week, I saw that potential firsthand in Los Angeles, where innovators like Radiant Nuclear, Valar Atomics, Hadrian, and Divergent are developing advanced nuclear and manufacturing technologies that will power our future and create good jobs for hardworking Americans.
On Tuesday, July 22, I’ll chair a hearing in the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs titled “The New Atomic Age: Advancing America’s Energy Future” to examine these advancements and how Congress can clear barriers to innovation.

Update: Discharge Petition on Jeffrey Epstein Files
I have signed on to Rep. Thomas Massie’s discharge petition to compel the release of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein. We all deserve to know what’s in the Epstein files, who’s implicated, and how deep this corruption goes. Americans were promised justice and transparency.
This effort is part of a broader push to declassify and shed light on critical issues, including unresolved questions about the JFK assassination, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and other matters the Declassification Task Force has been investigating. The American public deserves full answers on these topics to restore trust in our institutions and affirm that our government is still working for the American people.

Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy Appears Before Committee
On Wednesday, the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee held a hearing with Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean Duffy, where I focused on three key issues:
- Transparency on UAP Data: A former NASA official told me the agency holds a significant archive of UAP videos and photos that should be released for public review, supported by AI tools to ensure accessibility and analysis.
- Flawed Crew Mandate: The Biden administration’s rule requiring a second crew member on large freight trains has not improved safety and places unnecessary burdens on the industry.
- Efficiency and Accountability: The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is currently evaluating DOT operations to identify wasteful spending and streamline processes.

House Passes Senate-Amended Rescissions Package
On Thursday, the House passed the Senate-amended rescissions package, clawing back $9 billion with cuts to NPR, PBS, and USAID. This is a decent start, though it’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the country’s $37 trillion debt. The Senate watered down the package that the House originally passed last month, reducing the rescissions from $9.4 billion to $9 billion. Though frustrating, this is still a step in the right direction to rein in Washington’s spending and stop wasting taxpayers’ money.

Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act Passes the House
On Thursday, the House sent a clear message by passing H.R. 1919, the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act. This legislation bans the Federal Reserve from issuing any form of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) directly or indirectly to individuals and prohibits the Fed from researching, developing, or implementing such a tool.
A CBDC poses an unprecedented threat to American liberty by enabling government surveillance and control over every financial transaction, effectively turning personal bank accounts into instruments of state spying and control.
Passing this bill is a bold move to protect financial privacy and individual liberty from the creeping reach of a digital surveillance state.

Op-Ed: No, Attacking ICE Is Not a Winning Strategy
The Democrats’ campaign against America’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement is an attack on the rule of law.
Americans elected a President and a Congress with a mandate to secure the border and address illegal immigration. By attacking ICE, Democrats are signaling they oppose any meaningful immigration enforcement.
Worse, this reckless rhetoric has inspired real-world violence. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports that assaults on ICE agents have skyrocketed, and attacks are increasingly targeting ICE detention facilities. In one case, 10 individuals are now facing attempted murder charges.

Biden Administration Officials Plead the Fifth in Oversight Depositions
In recent House Oversight Committee depositions, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, President Biden’s former personal physician and Anthony Bernal, former Chief of Staff to First Lady Jill Biden, both invoked the Fifth Amendment and declined to answer key questions. Annie Tomasini, former Deputy Chief of Staff at the Biden White House, also pleaded the Fifth Amendment at her deposition as part of the investigation into the cover-up of President Biden’s cognitive decline and unauthorized autopen use.
Such stonewalling is unacceptable in the oversight process, and all options must be considered to ensure the American people receive the answers they deserve.
