New Poll Backs Key Reforms in the Great American Healthcare Plan

A recent Washington Reporter article highlighted new polling showing strong support for several reforms included in my bill the Great American Healthcare Plan. The survey found that 76 percent of voters support putting health care dollars directly into Americans’ personal accounts rather than through insurance companies, 85 percent support greater price transparency, and 80 percent support allowing healthcare dollars to be spent on preventive wellness. As Congress turns its attention to Reconciliation 3.0, these findings show Americans are ready for a healthcare system that puts patients first.

Months of Senate Gamesmanship Leave Key Priorities on Hold

On Friday, after months of delays, procedural fights, and internal bickering, the Senate finally passed Reconciliation 2.0. The Secure America Act provides full funding for border-security and immigration-enforcement operations through the remainder of President Trump's administration. What should have been a straightforward funding bill became a drawn-out process that consumed valuable time while other challenges continued to grow. The House is prepared to act quickly and send the legislation to President Trump's desk.

Americans are still facing rising healthcare costs, a housing affordability crisis, and a cost of living that continues to strain family budgets. The Senate cannot afford another months-long detour. It's time to finish Reconciliation 2.0 and get to work on Reconciliation 3.0.

EER Roundtable: The Impact of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act

On Thursday, I chaired a joint roundtable of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs and the Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services examining the impact of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. The law prevented an average 22 percent tax increase on American families and provides targeted relief for tipped workers, overtime workers, and seniors. It also strengthens domestic manufacturing and achieves roughly $1.4 trillion in spending reductions over the next decade. Business leaders and policy experts shared examples of Americans keeping more of what they earn because of these reforms — and how these policies are beginning to reverse Washington's habit of spending money it doesn't have.

House Passes Bill to Crack Down on Child-Care Fraud

On Wednesday, the House passed the Stop Child Care Scams Act of 2026, legislation that would strengthen oversight and prevent fraud in the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) program. The bill requires stronger state fraud-prevention measures, increases transparency surrounding improper payments, and permanently bars providers found guilty of fraud from receiving future taxpayer funding. It also holds states accountable when payment error rates become excessive. The reforms are intended to help ensure CCDBG funds are used as intended and not lost to fraud, waste, or abuse.

Seeking Answers from Federally Funded Research Centers

I recently sent oversight letters to MITRE and MIT Lincoln Lab, two federally funded research and development centers, seeking records related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). These organizations have played a significant role in supporting some of the federal government's most advanced scientific, defense, and research efforts for decades. As Congress continues to pursue transparency, it is important for these agencies to provide access to these relevant records.

Congressional Baseball Game Returns Next Week

Next Wednesday, I will participate in the Congressional Baseball Game, an annual tradition that has brought Members of Congress together since 1909. The event raises money through Congressional Sports for Charity, which supports charitable organizations and the United States Capitol Police Memorial Fund. The game is one of the longest-running traditions in Congress and draws thousands of attendees each year.
