Fishing Dreams: A Day with America’s Heroes

I recently had the honor of attending Fishing Dreams on Table Rock Lake, hosted by Bass Pro Shops. Spending the day with our veterans and hearing their stories was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices they make for our country.

Thank you to every veteran in Southwest Missouri and across the nation for your service—you have my deepest respect and gratitude.

Shutdown Over – Congress Returns to Capitol Hill

The longest government shutdown in history is finally over, ending a bizarre stalemate caused by partisan brinkmanship that put politics ahead of the American people.

The House passed a continuing resolution on September 19, which would have funded the government through November 21, allowing time to continue the appropriations process for fiscal year 2026. However, over a 43-day period, Senate Democrats voted 15 times to block the clean funding bill that would have reopened the government.

Democrats chose to keep the government closed while demanding $1.5 trillion in new spending and attempting to extend COVID-era subsidies to prop up the failing Obamacare system. As a result, Americans, including our service members, bore the cost driven by partisan priorities.

Republicans stood firm, and in the end, eight Senate Democrats crossed the aisle to pass a funding bill that reopened the government through January 30, 2026.

Now, Congress must restore fiscal discipline through regular order – completing the 12 appropriations bills that ensure a responsible budget and put hardworking families first.

MAHA Video Series: What If I Told You... Obamacare Was Built to Fail

In the coming weeks I’ll be laying out a new health care vision for America. This begins with wellness, healthier lifestyles, and finally addressing the crisis of healthcare affordability.

The Affordable Care Act was sold on a false premise. Soaring premiums, shrinking networks, and confusing coverage were not accidents. They were the predictable result of a system that made patients pay more while insiders benefited.

This is the story of how we got here. A system built for bureaucracy, not care. A system that promised access but delivered confusion, cost, and frustration. The truth starts here.

Fresh Freedom: Healthcare Coverage Doesn’t Equate to Care

On Episode 58 of Fresh Freedom, I sit down with Lauren Stewart from Americans for Prosperity to talk about why Obamacare is failing Americans, from soaring premiums to coverage that doesn’t meet their needs. We explore Health Savings Accounts, patient-driven reforms, and real solutions that give people control over their own health care.

Congress Passes Epstein Transparency with Discharge Petition

On Tuesday, the House overwhelmingly passed the legislation to require the Department of Justice to release the Jeffrey Epstein files after the successful discharge petition led by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY-04) and Ro Khanna (D-CA-17) by a vote of 427-1. This decisive action reflects Congress’s commitment to transparency and accountability, reinforcing the principle that our government answers to the people. It builds on the work of the House Oversight Committee and sends a clear message: No matter how powerful, no one is exempt from scrutiny, and sunlight remains the best disinfectant in protecting the integrity of our institutions.

Signal Sitdown: Is Key Epstein Information Still Classified?

On Wednesday, I spoke with Bradley Devlin of The Daily Signal about what comes next in the effort to bring full transparency to the Epstein files. The bill requires the Justice Department to release unclassified documents, but significant questions remain about whether key records will be withheld under claims of ongoing investigations or national security. I made clear that the House Oversight Committee will continue pressing for answers because the American people deserve a complete accounting and the victims deserve justice.

Arctic Frost: A Coordinated Attack on Conservatives

Arctic Frost was a sweeping, secretive 2022 FBI operation that pulled in more than 430 Republicans, conservative organizations, and even sitting lawmakers under the banner of an election-related probe. Former Special Counsel Jack Smith issued 197 subpoenas to individuals, businesses, and financial institutions, seeking bank data, communications, fundraising records, and even phone metadata—much of it under gag orders approved by Judge James Boasberg. The investigation expanded far beyond its stated purpose. Arctic Frost was pure political intimidation—a dragnet designed to scrutinize, chill, and deter conservatives.

Let Them Play: Urging the NCAA to Give Missouri State a Bowl Shot

Missouri State University’s football program has already won seven games in its first season at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Normally, that would make the team bowl-eligible, but because it’s their first year competing at this level, NCAA rules currently prevent them from participating in postseason play. I sent a letter to the NCAA urging them to grant a waiver so that the Bears and their coaches can compete in a bowl game they have earned. Previous exceptions have been made in similar situations, and I am advocating for fairness and consistency in how these rules are applied.
