81 Years Later: Honoring the Heroes of D-Day
|
This week marked the 81st anniversary of D-Day, when over 150,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most daring and consequential operations in history. These men faced unimaginable danger—not for conquest, but to liberate a continent from tyranny. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering sense of duty changed the course of the world. We remember the heroes of D-Day, not only for what they did, but for what they stood for: freedom, bravery, and the resolve to confront evil head-on.

Backing Real Spending Cuts and Urging Immediate Vote on Rescissions
|
I’ve joined Rep. Clay Higgins (LA-03) and members of the House Freedom Caucus in sending a letter to the House Appropriations Committee urging them to write Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) spending bills that align with President Trump’s America First agenda. The letter highlights President Trump’s leadership through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in exposing waste, fraud, and abuse—especially within agencies like USAID, which has been hijacked by the radical left to spread woke ideology and political extremism around the globe. It calls for FY26 appropriations to roll back non-defense and non-veterans discretionary spending to pre-COVID levels.
Additionally, Congress must immediately vote on the Trump administration’s rescissions package and begin clawing back the billions in wasteful spending.

DOGE Subcommittee Hearing: Public Funds, Private Agendas: NGOs Gone Wild
|
On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) held a hearing to expose the corrupt ties that bind left-wing nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), Democratic elected officials and appointees, and deep- state bureaucrats who write grants and contracts to advance a radical agenda that most Americans oppose.
One glaring example: In November 2024, in the final months of the Biden–Harris Administration, $20 billion was sent to eight nonprofits—several of which were conveniently created just weeks after the NGO grant applications opened.
At the hearing, I pressed witnesses on these shady deals, and whether the federal government taking money from taxpayers and handing it to its favored organizations can really be called “charity.”

Oversight Hearing: The Federal Government in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
|
On Thursday, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing titled “The Federal Government in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”
AI can transform federal government operations, and the private sector can be a great partner in unlocking the technology’s full potential. It has the power to cut waste, prevent fraud, and save taxpayers billions—but only if Washington gets out of its own way.
One witness, Ms. Linda Miller, explained that instead of building AI technology from scratch, government agencies should buy ready-made solutions from private companies. Since AI changes so fast, custom-built software quickly becomes outdated. Buying from outside vendors gives agencies access to the latest tools and helps support small, innovative tech businesses.

Reliable Grid Act Targets Democrat EPA Assault on Power Supply
|
On Thursday, I reintroduced the Reliable Grid Act to stop the damage caused by radical Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations pushed under Democratic administrations that have crippled America’s power grid and triggered a nationwide energy-reliability crisis.
From the Obama-era Clean Power Plan to Biden’s absurd 90% carbon-capture rule, these policies were designed to shut down affordable, reliable energy. My bill puts an end to this madness and stops future radical EPA tyrants from destroying our energy infrastructure.

Fresh Freedom Podcast Ep. 48: Can a Bill Be Both Big and Beautiful?
|
Elon Musk recently questioned whether a bill can truly be both “big” and “beautiful.” In this episode of Fresh Freedom, we dig into that very debate.
I sit down with Marc Goldwein of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget to unpack what’s really driving our unsustainable deficits, the political posturing around the debt ceiling, and what it would actually take to balance the federal budget. It’s a candid, fact-driven conversation on the fight for fiscal responsibility.

Sanctuary Governors Are Putting Americans at Risk — A Must-Watch Hearing Next Week
|
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) announced a hearing for next Thursday, June 12, with Governors JB Pritzker (Illinois), Tim Walz (Minnesota), and Kathy Hochul (New York).
These governors will testify about their outrageous sanctuary policies that shield criminal illegal aliens from federal law enforcement. They are willfully putting American lives in danger by refusing to cooperate with efforts to secure our borders and remove dangerous criminals.
While hardworking Americans demand safety and order, these sanctuary states choose to protect illegal criminals instead. Their actions completely undermine the rule of law.
