House Passes President Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’

On Thursday, the House passed President Trump’s signature package after weeks of tough negotiations. I made it clear from the start: I wouldn’t support it unless it delivered for conservatives—and it did. The bill now heads to the Senate.

Big Win for the Second Amendment: Suppressors Removed from the NFA

One of the most significant wins in the bill was the removal of firearm suppressors from the National Firearms Act. I’ve been fighting to eliminate this unconstitutional burden, and we got it done. This change:

  • Ends the $200 tax on transfers and manufacturing
  • Eliminates the fingerprinting and registry requirements
  • Removes long ATF wait times
  • Ends the need to carry Form 4 at the range

Short-barreled rifles and shotguns remain under the NFA for now—but I’m working with Senate conservatives to finish the job.

Oversight Subcommittee Hearing: Exposing the IRA’s Damage to Energy and Medicine

On Tuesday, as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs, I led a hearing titled Mandates, Meddling, and Mismanagement: The IRA’s Threat to Energy and Medicine.”

This hearing focused on how the so-called Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has failed to deliver on its promises—wasting taxpayer dollars, distorting energy markets, and driving up costs for American families.

A recent analysis by the Cato Institute shows that energy subsidies embedded in the IRA may cost “between $936 billion and $1.97 trillion over the next ten years, and between $2.04 trillion and $4.67 trillion by 2050.”

I remain committed to delivering accountability, defending free market principles, and protecting taxpayer dollars from this kind of reckless government overreach.

Declassification Task Force: JFK Assassination Files – Part II

On Tuesday, the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets held a hearing titled, “The JFK Files: Assessing Over 60 Years of the Federal Government’s Obstruction, Obfuscation, and Deception.”

We examined newly declassified files, heard testimony from intelligence experts, and scrutinized the troubling lack of transparency that has persisted for decades. Witnesses—including former staff from the Assassination Records Review Board—testified that the CIA repeatedly withheld and misled investigators, Congress, and the American people.

As I made clear in my line of questioning, this isn’t about conspiracy — it’s about accountability. The American people deserve to know why agencies like the CIA stonewalled investigations, destroyed trust, and kept vital information hidden—even from the committees tasked with oversight.

Guidance Clarity Act Advances Out of Oversight Committee

On Wednesday, my bill, H.R. 2409 the Guidance Clarity Act, advanced out of the Oversight Committee.

Too often, federal agencies issue “guidance” that looks like law—but isn’t. My bill requires that all guidance documents clearly state:

  • That the guidance does not have the force of law and is not legally binding on the public.
  • That the document is intended only to explain existing laws or agency policies—not to create new ones.

Unelected bureaucrats have abused guidance documents to impose backdoor regulations without following the formal rulemaking process. They create confusion to intimidate businesses into thinking suggestions on how to comply with federal regulations are themselves legal requirements. The Guidance Clarity Act will put a stop to this deception and make sure every American knows the difference between actual law and bureaucratic overreach.

Fresh Freedom Podcast Ep. 47: Fiscal Hawks Fight for Real Spending Cuts

On Episode 47 of Fresh Freedom, Freedom Caucus Chair Rep. Andy Harris (MD-01) joins me to discuss the behind-the-scenes fight by fiscal hawks to secure spending cuts in President Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill.’

Members of the House Freedom Caucus delivered the votes necessary to advance President Trump’s agenda after securing significant wins in making the reconciliation bill the most conservative version possible — much more conservative than the original House GOP proposal in January that would have achieved a measly $300 billion in deficit reduction.

Timcast IRL Recap: Comey’s Arrogance, Rogue Judges, and Subterranean Secrets

I recently joined Timcast IRL with Tim Pool and Tim Alberino. We discussed Former FBI Director James Comey’s arrogant “86-47” post and discuss how rogue judges are blocking President Trump’s lawful executive orders. We covered growing threats to data privacy, the rise of performative politics in Congress, and the alarming lack of accountability for violent left-wing activist groups who have wreaked havoc and destruction across our cities. We also discussed deep underground military bases and the urgent need for UAP transparency.
